IDoH No Longer Recommending Contact Tracing, Quarantines - CDC Eliminates Mask Requirement on Buses

BCSC shared with families last month that the Indiana Department of Health (IDoH) is no longer recommending contract tracing and quarantining in schools. While BCSC is no longer contact tracing and issuing quarantines per the new IDoH guidance, we would ask that families continue to report positive cases of COVID-19 through the online form on the BCSC website. (link below)

In addition, over the weekend, the CDC announced that the federal mask requirement for school buses has also been eliminated.

BHS Varsity Cheer Competes at Nationals

Last month, the BHS varsity cheerleading team earned the right to compete in and traveled to Orlando, Florida to take part in the National High School Cheerleading Championship. This was BHS cheerleading program's first time competing at the Universal Cheerleaders Association's National level. There were 980 teams from 32 states represented at the competition. The BHS cheer squad competed in the Game Day division and was just 1.4 points shy of making it to finals. The girls gave their best performance of the season and had zero deductions.

BHS Band Members Are All-State

BCSC Food and Clothing Pantry

The BCSC Food Pantry launched in the summer of 2014 through a partnership with Gleaners Food Bank. Thanks to the hard work of community and staff volunteers and Applied Skills students in the Collaborators for Success program at BHS, the pantry has served over 27,000 individuals and 7,200 families since 2014. BCSC families have also contributed donations to help make the pantry such a great resource for our community.

The pantry is open again on March 3rd from 3pm-5:30pm in a drive thru setting and always on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursdays of the month. Visitors can use door #7 at the ALPHA/Harris Academy building, 725 C South Green Street.

If you have questions about the pantry, please contact Tracy Damone at tdamone@brownsburg.k12.in.us.
