Teen Mental Health First Aid

Do we want to organize one for our FPCS families?

Youth Mental Health First Aid USA is an eight-hour public education program, intended for adults, which introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents. Builds understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaches individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or who may be experiencing a mental health challenge. Mental Health First Aid uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis; select interventions and provide initial help; and connect young people to professional, peer, social, and self-help care.

Staff Emergency Information

I am in the process of reviewing our Emergency Preparedness Plan and would like to make sure we have our bases covered when it comes to staff and student safety. Please go to the link below, fill in the pertinent information, print the form and return it to me before you leave for Christmas Break. If you don't have access to a printer or have already left for vacation, save the document and e-mail it to me. I will print it out to keep in my school binder.

Thanks!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

The school year is moving along at a fairly quick clip. Rarely do we get the opportunity to pause and reflect upon all that we have accomplished thus far. I am extremely thankful for the collective talent and energy of our staff and teachers. Family Partnership Charter School is unique in the multitude of ways we strive to serve the interests and blend of culture, background, and experiences of our students and their families.

FPCS continues to be an amazing place to work and learn. Earning the right to call ourselves a great school will require a continuous determination and commitment to serve all our students, regardless of who they are and how they come to us. This is a charge we share as a school and a community.

I know the pace and distractions this time of the year always seems to bring about stress, however I want to take a moment to wish you and your family a relaxing holiday season.

Sincerely,

Deanne
