#SealeTheDeal
August 21-25
The commencement of the new school year has brought with it a sense of excitement and anticipation for the journey ahead. I am delighted to share the wonderful start we have had during the first week of school.
Our students and dedicated staff members have been actively engaged in a range of activities aimed at fostering connections and setting the stage for a positive academic year. Through collaborative efforts, we have collectively laid the foundation for a successful and enriching learning experience. Students and staff created Social Contracts in their classrooms this week. These Social Contracts represent a mutual agreement between teachers and students, outlining foundational principles that will steer students in their actions and interactions with one another.
One of the highlights of this week was our series of grade-level assemblies, where we introduced the principles of the "Frank Seale Way." These assemblies provided an opportunity to instill our core values and expectations within the student body. Additionally, our administrative team and counselors have effectively communicated essential procedures and policies to guarantee a smooth and successful year for all.
It is important that we draw your attention to a couple of important matters. First, we have established a new Middle School phone policy for classroom settings. We kindly request your cooperation and encouraging your student in adhering to this policy, as it contributes to an environment conducive to focused learning.
Furthermore, we want to emphasize the importance of upholding the district dress code. While our primary focus is on fostering academic growth, we also recognize the significance of maintaining a respectful and appropriate appearance. Rest assured, in cases where students may require a change of clothing to meet these guidelines, we have arrangements in place to ensure their comfort and compliance.
As our students and educators settle into their daily routines, we are diligently assessing class sections and sizes to ensure an optimal learning environment for everyone. Our commitment to providing a tailored education that caters to individual needs remains unwavering. Should adjustments to class schedules become necessary, please know that these decisions will be made thoughtfully, prioritizing the overall educational experience for all students.
Together, we are shaping an environment where academic growth, personal development, and mutual respect thrive. Your partnership is invaluable, and I am excited about the prospects that the new school year hold. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our dedicated staff members. Here's to a year filled with achievement, growth, and shared successes.

Staff Member Shoutouts!
Shoutouts from our first week!
Ms. Alexander has been working so hard on the schedule for >my son<!!! She has been going above and beyond making sure to communicate with us! I know the first part of school is CRAZY and she got all our questions answered in a timely manner and with such grace and class!
When running in to Mrs M (new & has 2 boys I believe) in the hall during orientation night, her energy was infectious, and it felt like we had known her for years! (We are new to the district) She attempted to answer all of my questions and I have never felt more like family to a stranger than I did that night! IF she is the image of FSMS, I can't wait to meet the rest of the amazing staff, we as families are all in for a real treat of a year!!! Expectations surpassed!

Dress-Code Reminders:
- The student will be sent to a designated staff member to check for the dress code violation
- If the student is out of dress code they may change in one of three ways:
1. The student changes into extra clothes they have with them (PE/Athletic sets are fine).
2. The student calls a parent to bring them a change of clothes.
3.The student will be given something out of our dress code closet to change into (all items are washed before returning to the closet for another student to wear).
**In order to borrow from the dress code closet, the student will have to give their clothing item to our staff member. Our staff member will put the article of clothing in a baggie with the students name on it. The student can retrieve their clothing at the end of the day and then return our dress code closet item.

ATTENDING AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
We welcome students to attend games to cheer on their fellow CUBS and attend our high school games! Our current middle school schedules are listed below in the Newsletter. Attending our after school events is a privilege and students are expected to follow the following guidelines:
1. 7th and 8th grade student spectators in attendance at High School games have their student ID with them at all times.
2. Student spectators adhere to the MISD student code of conduct at all times and conduct themselves in a way that is respectful to themselves, others, and the facilities.
3. Student spectators are to be picked up and depart MISD property within 30 minutes of the conclusion of the event.
4. Any student waiting on a ride after an event must wait in the area designated by the administrator on duty. This is to ensure all students are supervised while waiting for a ride.
Students who are not picked up within 30 minutes of the conclusion of the event are subject to having event attendance privileges removed for a period of time. Students should contact parents when the announcements are made to contact parents in order to avoid a late pickup. There is no set end time so it is important that parents are available to pick up students when the phone call is made.
Any student attending the high school football games at the MISD Stadium must enter with a parent. There are no drop offs. Students may sit with parents or in the Middle School Section. Middle School Students are not allowed on the High School Side and must enter through Gate A.
High School FB Games:
1. All students must present their student ID badge to enter the game.
2. The clear bag policy is in effect and will be enforced.
3. Fans should not stand or jump on the aluminum bleacher seats. Feet should remain on the concrete floor/steps at all times. Campus admin will be monitoring the student section and will provide reminders. Students who repeatedly stand on the aluminum bleachers after warnings will be ejected from the stadium.
4. Power, confetti, or other similar items are not allowed in the stadium. These substances, especially powder, can provide a health risk to others. Students found to be in possession of these items will be ejected from the stadium and could be banned from future home football games.

District Information
When to Use SEE IT. HEAR IT. STOP IT.
There are two great ways to report bullying and safety and security issues. One way is to contact campus administration directly and let them know the issue so they can fully investigate the matter. If you need to remain anonymous, then you can use the See IT Hear IT Stop IT tool available to staff, students, and families. This is also a great tool to use if it is after hours and you cannot contact an administrator directly. MISD encourages you to speak to an administrator whenever possible when there is a threat to student or staff safety or security.
