SOCIAL SECURITY ACT
The Hot New Thing
WHAT IS THIS SORCERY?!
The Social Security Act was signed by Franklin Deleno Roosevelt on August 8th, 1935. It was mad to provide general welfare by establishing system of Federal old-age benefits, and by enabling the several States to make more adequate provision for aged persons, blind persons, dependent and crippled children, maternal and child welfare, public health, and the administration of their unemployment compensation laws. There are two types of Social Security: old age and survivors insurance and disability. There are currently 2.8 workers for each Social Security Beneficiary. In 2033 there will be 2.1. You have to be at least 65 and older to recieve benefits.
