Back to School Nights
Thanks to you and our students, we had a great parent turnout in attending our Middle School and Primary Grades "Back to School" Nights. You did a great job of informing our parents about the content areas you are teaching and what their child can expect this year in their new grade. I predict that we will increase the number of parents participating this year because all of us have started this year making them feel part of their school community!
Reading Plus
This new reading program will be for students in grades
3 - 7 (grade 2 may come on line in February). The picture depicts our student results in the initial assessment they take to determine program placement and design of a tailored program to meet their reading needs. Our goal is to have students move/grow and eventually fall into the high comprehension/high fluency area....we know that they can do it...let's work this year to do so.
Class DoJo
Look at how many parents have signed up!! Teachers, send those invite and have your parents connect. Parents are viewing and I see that teachers are posting class stories...this is great. I even posted two school stories :-)
Class DoJo
We can monitor parent and student engagement, daily or weekly. Look at how many "moments recognized" with only 7 days into the program. Students are loving this and I hope that you are reaping classroom management benefits from its use. Be sure to align an incentive plan with the results your students are working to achieve...use some of the suggestions offered in our staff meeting.
After School Tutoring and Club Positions Available
There are a number of tutoring positions available. If you have not submitted an email and/or letter of interest, please do so ASAP. There are positions for (7) Gen Ed teachers, (3) SE teachers and (2) paraprofessionals. Also, we are in need of an advisor for our National Junior Honor Society...will you consider advising this club? let me know.
