Three Kittens Mittens Lost
On Saturday, January 15, 2014, April, May, and June Johnson were playing in the snow, when suddenly their mittens disappeared. They ran inside to tell their mother, Mary Lou Johnson. When she found out the horrible news, she was furious with her daughters. She told them they would not get any of her freshly baked mouse pie until their mittens were found. The kittens were so upset, they cried. They looked and looked for their fuzzy mittens, but they were nowhere to be found. There was a beautiful red cardinal in its nest in the tree above. They saw some purple fuzz stuck to the outside of its nest. May climbed the tree and saw that their mittens were in the nest! The bird must have taken the mittens when they weren’t looking! May retrieved the mittens and descended down the tree. April, May, and June ran inside to tell their mother the good news. When Mary Lou heard, she was so overjoyed she cut up some mouse pie for everyone!
The Bermuda Triangle
Hundreds of ships and planes have gone missing in the Bermuda Triangle without a trace. The Bermuda Triangle is sometimes referred to as the Devil’s Triangle because of this. It is located roughly between Miami, Puerto Rico, and Bermuda. It covers about 500 square miles. Weird events in that area date back to Christopher Columbus. Columbus, upon entering the area, reported that his compass started malfunctioning and he claimed to have seen weird lights. A 542 foot long ship called the USS Cyclops was on its way to Baltimore, Maryland, from Bahia, Salvador, disappeared without a trace and no wreckage was ever found. The ship never sent out a distress signal. The deaths of 306 crew members and passengers, who were on the ship, is the largest loss of life in the U.S. Naval history that doesn't involve combat. In December 5, 1945, there were five U.S. Navy Torpedo Bombers that went missing right over the Bermuda Triangle without a trace. Another rescue plane went to find them and also disappeared. Some people think that the reason so many have gone missing in the area has to do with magnetic anatomy which affects compass readings. Others think all the disappearances are explainable, having to do with bad storms. Some say it has to do with aliens, sea monsters, time warps, reverse gravity fields, and even Atlantis.
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) is a high school student who is determined to have a day off from school. He comes up with a fool proof plan to do it. Ferris convinces the whole school that he is on the verge of death. Then he manages to get his best friend, Cameron (Alan Ruck), to take his father's Ferrari to Chicago for the day. Ferris gets his girlfriend Sloane (Mia Sara) out of school to come with them too. They have a wonderful day, however their principal Ed Rooney (Jeffrey Jones) is certain that Ferris is playing hooky. Also not for the first time, and is determined to catch him in the act. His sister Jeanie (Jennifer Grey) is also annoyed that Ferris gets away with his tricks and she doesn’t. And the worst part is that in their parents' eyes Ferris is an angel. This a wonderful comedy and has amazing actors.
