Principal Message

The first week of school is in the books, and while some things have changed, others have not. As always, your children brought a great energy back into our building and to the virtual learning school. They adapted to the changes well, as have their teachers and support staff. Another constant is the entire staff working hard to ensure that learning is maximized, whether students are in-person or virtual, and making sure that health and safety are in the forefront for all students and staff. Our goal is to stay safe to stay open and with everyone’s cooperation, we can do that.

As with any unprecedented situation, we are learning along the way. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any concerns or suggestions. We appreciate your partnership.

Your principals,

Linda O’Bryan and John McEwing

Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures

Thanks for your patience and support as we worked through our drop off and pick up procedure. Here are a few things we’ve learned that will help the process:

  • Drop Off

    • Please have your child have all of their materials ready to go, so when it is time to leave the vehicle, they can do so quickly.

    • Once the line stops anywhere along the drop off zone (which runs from along the east side of the front parking lot past the flagpole), please have your child unload quickly.

    • Please only use the lane closest to the school for drop off. Dropping off in the center lane is dangerous and slows up traffic, as students are cutting across moving traffic.

  • Pick Up

    • New step: We will be providing you a laminated sign with the student’s last name in large print. Please have this on your dashboard on the passenger side. We want to get in the habit of using these, as it will be necessary in inclement weather when students will be inside the building.

    • Students being picked up on the playground (6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who are not carpooling with 5th graders) should only be picked up by the blue benches, as directed by the staff member in that area.

    • Encourage your students to move quickly to get in the car.

    • Please have front windows down so you can hear Mr. Nagy.

    • Pull up as close as possible to the basketball hoop by the last bench, so as many as nine cars can load at once. Do not stop where you see your child; pull up as far as possible, and your child will come to you. This will keep the line moving faster so that buses are not blocked from getting into their designated area.

    • Consider arriving at 3:15, as you will be able to pick up your child quickly without waiting in line.

    • Students in the back of the building not picked up by 3:20 will be walked to the front of the building, where they can be picked up.

Hot Lunch Finger Scanning

We encourage all students to have their finger scanned for our hot lunch program. It speeds up the processes of paying for hot lunch or any other items your child may purchase at this time. This gives the children more time to eat and socialize with their friends.

Please Click Here to visit the information on the finger scanning process.
