Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
What is OCD?
OCD is a disorder of the brain and behavior. OCD causes severe anxiety in those affected. OCD involves both obsession and compulsions that take a lot of time and get in the way of important activities the person may value.
May cause stress
May be stressed out because you don't want to do these kind of things, but you can't help it.
PERFECT
When you think about OCD you think about the people that has to have EVERYTHING perfect. This is an example of what OCD may look like.
"Clean Freak"
Some OCD has to do with everything being clean as possible. Some will do any thing to keep it this way.
Different Types
Washers- afraid of contamination
Checkers- repeatedly check things (oven, doors locked, etc..)
Doubters or Sinners- thinks that if something isn't perfect, then something terrible will happen to them
Counters or Arrangers- obsessed with order and symmetry. May have superstition about certain numbers, colors, or arrangements.
Hoarders- fear that something bad will happen if they throw anything away.
