Dealey Montessori -Newsletter

January 18, 2023

The mission of George Bannerman Dealey is to provide an exemplary education that develops and empowers all students to become productive citizens in our global society.

Dealey Dragons,

This week we honored the commitment and dedication of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who fought FOR people and fought AGAINST oppressive laws and treatment. What drove Dr. King was service, courage, and discipline. His never-wavering faith and belief in unity and equality, and his courage to do whatever it took to achieve those rights for all people, revolutionized a country. Dr. King knew that the unity of our nation required the action of one on behalf of all. Selflessness over selfishness, unity over division, and choosing the good of others in daily actions.

Dr. King’s words, actions, and sacrifice inspire me and remind me to lead with love, choose the good of others first, and always make decisions with courage over comfort on behalf of our children. We are called to lead with Dr. King's values as we educate our students, and commit to justice and equity in our schools and in our broader community.

Sincerely,

Cristina Ibarra (Principal)

Attendance Matters

Every school day counts in a child's academic life... A missed school day is a lost opportunity for students to learn. Our campus attendance went down to 97.93%

The highest percentage of attendance among the grade levels will have the opportunity to wear jeans with a Dealey or College shirt on Thursday. Congratulations Kindergarten with 99.39%! You may wear jeans on Thursday with a Dealey spirit or college shirt.
