Liberty Community Christmas Tree
The Liberty Community Christmas Tree program helps families in the Liberty area who need assistance with food and gifts during the holiday season.
Applications to receive assistance will be accepted
October 8th - November 9th.

Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Those wanting to help are encouraged to contact the Liberty Community Christmas Tree to learn of the many ways you can assist.
Diversity Festival--Thursday!
You do not want to miss the LPS Diversity Festival on November 8th, from 6 PM to 8 PM, at Liberty North High School. Join us as we celebrate the diversity of our community. Community members and organizations will have displays celebrating diversity. Free food, free entertainment, and lots of fun!
Career training
Northland Center for Advanced Professional Studies (Northland CAPS) provides high school students in the Northland with a professional, innovative, and entrepreneurial education through full immersion in high demand/high skill careers. The information night is for parents and students interested in this opportunity for the 2019-2020 school year. The meeting will be held at Liberty North High School at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, November 13.
Seniors: Have you ordered your cap and gown?
If you plan to participate in the graduation ceremony, you MUST order a cap and gown. Students at Liberty Academy and in the Missouri Option program, have until Wednesday, 11/20 to order as part of our large group order. Orders placed AFTER 11/20 will be filled on an individual basis and could cost more. Please contact Mrs. Streu if you need an order packet!
Upcoming holiday schedule
Because of the Thanksgiving holiday there will be NO SCHOOL Wednesday, November 21 - Friday, November 23.
Medical Careers Night
Register now for the November 15 Medical Careers Night at Liberty Hospital. This event will take place from 6-8:30 p.m. and is come-and-go (both students and parents). Medical Careers Night is open to both Liberty and Kearney school districts, 6th-12th grades, and to Staley High School students. Although the event is free, registration is required at libertyhospital.org to reserve student tour times. For more information, please contact Colleen Jones, 736-5320.
Want to take a free PRACTICE ACT test?
SOPHOMORES and JUNIORS- Tutor Doctor is offering a free opportunity to take a practice ACT test. There are 3 different dates being offered in November: November 14, November 15, and November 17. To sign up--see Mrs. Streu. Seats are limited. After the test, you will be given a report of your results.
About next semester...
The referral process for second semester starts on November 1st. If you or your student wants to discuss going back to their home high school, please contact Mrs. Norris PRIOR to November 23rd. melissa.norris@lps53.org
Your name on your diploma
If you are graduating this school year and would like the name on your diploma to be different from what is in Powerschool, please let Mrs. Streu know by 11-14-2018. NO EXTENSIONS TO THIS DEADLINE.
Thinking about career center for next year?
If you're a sophomore and you may be interested in the career center next year--there is an open house at the Northland Career Center on November 8 from 4:30 - 7:30pm. You should attend!
