The BEST of Burkland!
A weekly newsletter of HBB news and happenings
Update
Week 2 at home is underway. I hope you are all staying healthy and sane! I know it's not easy being confined to your home and I am sure the kids are going stir crazy. At this point you should have heard from your child's teachers as they are offering up suggestions about about how to keep your kids busy and productive. They are also here to support so don't hesitate to reach out to either myself or your child's teacher should you have questions or concerns. Please know that everything we have put out there, whether through the district or individual teachers, is optional. Our goal is to equip you with ideas and suggestions and to be here to support you if you need it. Anything you do to keep your kids productive during this time is great. Doing chores, playing outside, exercising, art projects are all great.
Each week Mrs. Grimes and I will be getting together to collect some of the best ideas from both schools and we will be sharing them on the District Extended Learning Site. Our goal is to share ideas for which you will not need technology. You can find the link by clicking here https://www.middleboro.k12.ma.us/Page/5748 Click on each day for different ideas and suggestions. Also, we would love to hear from you! If you have an idea please email me and I will include it!
I will be in touch regularly with updates so please stay tuned! For now I wanted to share out some of our winners from the week before all this started and a few additional items. Stay healthy HBB!
Let's Have Some Fun!
For those of you looking to have a little fun we would like to ask you to please send us videos or pictures of how you are passing the time. We are looking to put together a video that will be shared out with the whole school. Videos and pictures can include anything you are doing to pass the time. Dancing, playing, or examples of how you are driving your parents NUTS are all welcome!!
We are also looking for videos of kids giving each other pep talks or any other heartfelt or kind messages you might have for the school community.
Let's get creative HBB! Send us your videos and pics and let us know if you have any questions.
All videos can be sent to Mr. Dawson at sdawson@middleboro.k12.ma.us

Mrs. Serrilla
Whenever we do come back things are going to look very different in the HBB main office. Mrs. Serrilla, our full year secretary, has been offered a position that was just too good to walk away from. While we are going to miss her, we are happy because it’s a great opportunity for her.
Mrs. Serrilla has been a rock at HBB over the past 8 years and her contributions to the school are endless. Mrs. Serrilla was known to work well into the evenings and over the weekends and she gave everything she had to HBB and for that, we are all grateful. Without her we would not be where we are today. We are going to miss her positivity and selfless contributions.
Please join me in wishing Mrs. Serrilla good luck as she embarks on her new adventure
