Bullying Prevention Awareness Month
October is Bullying Prevention Month and Unity Day is Wednesday, October 19, 2022. We are encouraging everyone to wear ORANGE on October 19 as a visible representation of the supportive, universal message that our school wants to prevent bullying, and is united for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.
No Place For Hate
Creekwood Middle School will be participating in No Place for Hate this year. The No Place for Hate program implements anti-bullying and anti-bias activities throughout the year, promoting a culture and climate of respect that has no place for hate! This focus helps to stand up against bigotry and hate by promoting respect for diversity and global citizenship.

Counseling Guidance Lessons
The majority of our students have entered their CCMR (College, Career, Military Readiness) SMART goal into Naviance which can be reviewed at home by having your student login to their Naviance account through MyHumble.
During the second nine weeks, our 8th graders will explore high school endorsements and select the endorsement they would like to study in high school. Endorsements will be selected before the high school counselors visit in November for the course selection process.

Future KPark Panthers
On November 29, 2022, Kingwood Park High School (KPHS) will host a program for our current 8th graders who may be attending KPHS in the Fall of 2023.
Future Panthers (Class of 2027) may come from within our attendance zone, or they may apply for a transfer should they live in other parts of Humble ISD.
After a formal presentation in the Performing Arts Center, students and parents may survey displays featuring KPHS academic and extracurricular programs and meet with many of the teachers who are the programs’ sponsors. Instructional Coaches will also be on hand to explain course sequencing.
Parents and students are encouraged to attend. Please use the South (Chanay Lane) parking area and enter into the Performing Arts Center. The program begins at 6pm.

Creekwood Personalized Counseling
In Humble ISD, we believe in a personalized approach to counseling. Each secondary student will receive two individual meetings each year with their counselor. In these meetings, students will explore their goals and aspirations, and discuss the options for their personal path in Humble ISD. Additionally, counselors will be working with students and teachers in the classroom to provide additional avenues for student success. This partnership gives Humble ISD students a unique approach to meeting their personal goals, career pathways, and setting them up for success.
Personalized Student Counseling: A Roadmap to Success.
School Counseling Program Structure
Counselors in Humble ISD implement the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs. This model delivers counseling services in the following areas:
Individual Planning “to guide a student as the student plans, monitors, and manages the student’s own educational, career, personal, and social development.”
Guidance Curriculum “to help students develop their full educational potential, including the student's interests and career objectives.”
Responsive Services “to intervene on behalf of any student whose immediate personal concerns or problems put the student's continued educational, career, personal, or social development at risk.”
System Support “to support the efforts of teachers, staff, parents, and other members of the community in promoting the educational, career, personal, and social development of students."
