We had another great week in room 203!

There was a lot of great learning going on. Here are some of the things we worked on!


  • Used mental math and rounding strategies to add and subtract decimals
  • Continued to work on writing personal narratives
  • Finished our unit about the scientific inquiry process
  • Began learning about classifying organisms
  • Read novels and found the theme of fiction text

Park Hill Clothing Center

The next shopping day for the Park Hill Clothing Center is Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Hours of operation are 10:00 AM – Noon and 5:00-7:00 PM. Volunteers are needed especially for the evening hours. Go volunteer for an hour then get your shopping done or just go volunteer! Thanks!

Library!

5th graders checked out books from the Line Creek library this week. During the month of September, our checkout will be on Tuesdays at 2:10.
We will not have checkout the week of the 22nd due to the book fair. Please try to remember to send books to school each Monday.


Our classroom library is also open for business. Students are always welcome to choose titles from our collection!

1st quarter midterms will be sent home on Monday. Please sign and return in the form after reviewing your child's progress.

Important Reminders

- The Acuity window opens next week. We will take the ELA test the 16th and 17th and then math the following week.

  • - Line Creek will have a Leader in Me kick off assembly the morning of the 19th.
  • - Be sure to charge laptops at home every day and bring them back to school. Several students either left theirs at home or didn't have a fully charged computer this week. Having a fully charged laptop is a vital part of our classroom instruction.
  • - Students should be reading at home for 20 minutes each night.
