Kids Care Club Update
From Club Chair, Lisa Ashla:
The March meeting may have been my favorite one yet! Kids Care Club used our meeting to participate in a letter campaign to our World War II & Korean War Veterans thanking them for their service to our country. In partnership with a non-profit called Honor Flight, we wrote letters to our oldest veterans in the country who have been selected to enjoy a trip to the War Memorial in Washington D.C. These treasured heroes are bused or flown all together for a special honor of their service at no cost. During their journey to D.C., the Honor Flight Leader will announce “Mail Call” in which envelopes are distributed to each passenger. Some of these packets, 28 to be exact, will include a special, hand-crafted card with a note of thanks from your child(ren). I could not be more excited about the opportunity to bridge the wisdom of our oldest generation to the love, energy and spirit of our youngest. Your children continue to inspire me every time we meet.
Next meeting is after Spring Break on April 19th !
- Jenn Padilla for Chairing our spring Book Fair.
- Debbie Clark and Sheri LeRow for Co-Chairing Bingo Night, as well as all staff members who helped make Bingo Night a success.
- Bonnie Litke, Erin Arcario, Beth Myer, and Stephanie Romano for coordinating Movie Night.
