Read Across America Day!

We had so much fun celebrating reading today! Thank you so much to Mr. Cahill who came in and read to the class!

Students of the Month

Congratulations to Nick Haskell and Drake Durbin for showing Respect during the month of February. These students will eat lunch with Mrs. Curran on the stage! Next month we will be focusing on Determination.

Candy Bar Bingo Night

The PTO will be hosting Candy Bar Bingo at TCE on Friday, March 20th. There will be a raffle at the event where you can bid on "Teacher Experiences!" My "Teacher Experience" that you can bid on will be to stay after school with me and a friend. We will eat pizza and enjoy a movie!

Children's Museum Field Trip

Our field trip to the Children's Museum is scheduled for Thursday, March 12th. We will be watching "The Paper Bag Princess" at the Lilly Theater. Permission forms and money were collected earlier this year. On the day of the field trip, students should wear our class t-shirt and pack a disposable lunch. We are looking forward to a great day!

Yearbook Orders

Yearbook orders are due by March 15, 2015. The cost of the yearbook is $15 per book. We encourage you to place an order on the website: Inter-state.com/yearbook. Enter in the code 748563 to place an order. All yearbooks ordered online, will be shipped to TCE. Checks should be made out to Thorpe Creek Elementary. Happy ordering!

We are Learning...

Reading: We continue our study of traditional literature. We will be studying different versions of fairy tales and comparing/contrasting as we read.

Math: We are finishing our topic on 3-digit addition and subtraction.


Writing: We will be editing and publishing our nonfiction pieces!

Science:
We will continue our unit of forces and motion. We will be investigating the motion of objects when they are acted upon by forces such as gravity and magnetism.
