ELM MIDDLE SCHOOL’S WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
May 5, 2023
Principal's Message
We hope everyone had a great week! It certainly was an exciting one here at Elm. Our Volleyball teams both competed in the LNAC Tournament along with our Girl's Soccer team. Way to go, Cougars!!
Additionally, our 8th grade students took a big step forward toward graduation. This week all of our 8th grade classes took the U.S. Constitution test. The halls were buzzing with students sharing their achievements as results rolled in from their assessments. It's been quite a journey for our class of 2023 and with only a few short weeks left, this was a huge accomplishment for them! Congratulations! The Illinois Constitution test is up on the 18th.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week, and we can't wait to celebrate all of our amazing Elm Staff. Please take a few minutes to send one of your students teachers a note of thanks or have your students send their teachers some love. Our staff work tirelessly to ensure that our students are learning, cared for and guided every step of the way!
Please take a few minutes to read through this week’s Cougar Courier. As always, should you need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly. Have a nice weekend. #TeamElmStrong
Most Sincerely,
Ms. Ashley Groeneveld

From The PAT
staff who play a huge role in our children's education. The PAT has some things planned
throughout the week to show our appreciation. We encourage you to have your kids show their appreciation as well. It can be anything-a handwritten note with a favorite memory or expression of appreciation written by you or your child or a small treat or gift card or really anything-a
simple thank you goes a long way!
The color run is May 18th. If you haven't already done so please sign your student up if they want to participate. Please see the flyer in the Cougar Courier for details. The $20 fee gets you a t-shirt, packets of color to throw and a snack. Deadline to register is next Friday, May 12th.
Interested in helping with school events or just curious what the PAT does? Please join us for our next meeting on Wednesday, May 17th in the school library.
