3 @ ACT Math
3 @ Act Math, or 3 ACT Math Lessons, is an interactive website that can be used to engage your students in math lessons that support ACT tasks. 3 @ ACT Math is basically an extension to the original website 3-ACT Tasks. The website was created by Dan Meyer to support better math instruction. Basically, a teacher is able to pick a grade level, math subject, and then an interactive lesson to allow students to perform 3 ACT tasks. By using this tool in your classroom, you are able to teach three mini ACT lessons in one whole lesson. Videos, graphics, and sometimes even games are provided to create a more interactive atmosphere for your students. The three main tasks that are focused on are setup, solve, and reveal. This allows for a more personal and flexible learning experience for each student.
#3ActMath - What is it?
How do I use it in the classroom?
Organize by Nine Weeks
You are literally able to prepare a lesson for each and every day of your nine weeks time period! Including videos, notes, examples, answer keys, and standards.
Choose your grade level, or choose a lesson from Dan if you are stuck
Most of the lessons are organized by grade level or subject, however, if you have no time to prepare you can one of his personal lessons or explore the 5 practices.
Student Engagement
The section at the top labeled "Students" allows students to virtually engage in lessons on their own. This will direct them to a website with videos and teacher notes for further instruction on their own.
