A Note from the Parent's Club President
It seems like we were just starting the school year with our Popsicles on the Playground, and now we have less than three weeks left in the school year! Thank you to all of our wonderful DGS families for helping to make this year such a huge success! With all of the money generated through various fundraising efforts, we were able to purchase eight new swings for the DGS playground, as well as provide educational supplies for our teachers’ and students’ classrooms and host many memorable events. We hope everyone had a chance to enjoy and take part in some of the fun!
Don’t forget to join us next Friday morning May 12 from 7 to 7:30 AM for Muffins for Moms!
Thank you to this year’s many committee chairpersons for all of their hard work and efforts. Our committee chairs, along with countless
parent volunteers, organize and run so many events for our school. In addition to our amazing administration, teachers, and staff, each of you has a big part in making our school such a great place for our kids to learn. If you are a chairperson who is ending their term, please turn in your binders to the Parents’ Club mailbox in the staff lounge by the end of the year for next year’s chairperson.
Plans are already under way for next year’s activities. Please consider how you might participate in your DGS Parents’ Club. There are many opportunities throughout the school year to volunteer, and every little bit helps. You can find a list of the open committee chair positions at our Parents’ Club website. Be sure to visit the Parents’ Club table at Back to School Night in the fall to sign up for other volunteer opportunities, and mark your calendar for the first Parents’ Club meeting on Tuesday, September 5 at 7 PM in the DGS Café.
We would like to wish the Royal graduating Class of 2017 best wishes in the fall! We will certainly miss these students and their families!
Thank you to everyone who attended our final Parents’ Club meeting of the year on Tuesday! Please join me in congratulating Annalee Huntington, Renee Gruel, and Ann Weyhrich, the Parents’ Club’s newly elected Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer for the 2017-2018 school year. The office of President is still open for next year, however, if no one volunteers by the end of May, the newly elected officers will vote on June 1 to extend my term for an additional year. A huge thank you to Susan Hopton and Michelle Arnott for their years of service as Vice-President and Secretary, respectively! Your hard work is very much appreciated!
Enjoy your summer, and GO BE A ROYAL!
Respectfully,
Amy Stahl
