Check Your Grades: Grades Have Been Updated!

At each Assignment Due date, grades are updated by the teacher. Zeros are entered for any missing assignments from the student's schedule. Students and parents should view grades and notify the teacher of any issues. Students are encouraged to turn in missing work for partial credit according to GaVS late policy.

You will receive a course update email from me every two weeks, immediately after an Assignment Due Date.

Please read through the newsletter for helpful information.

Students May Submit Late Assignments ... for ONE WEEK only.

After the assignment due date, we accept late work for one week with a reduction in points each successive school day. Please note that this has been adjusted because of the inclement weather in GA last week (click image to enlarge)

GAVS Spring Break: April 7-11

Students are not expected to log in from April 7-11 and no assignments are on the course schedule. Teachers will be answering email but are not required to grade.

If your spring break (at your face to face school) is at a different time, you are still responsible for GAVS due dates. Contact your instructor if you will not be working in the course. Work ahead if necessary so that you can enjoy your break and still get your assignments in on time.

FUN SCIENCE FACT: What do the Ides of March (March 15th) Have to Do With Science?

Commemorate the Ides of March with a Deep Breath!

Perhaps you recall that the Ides of March (March 15th) is the day that Caesar took his last breath while being assassinated?

Listen to this Podcast to find out how many of Julius Caesar's molecules are inside of you right now. Think about how this is related to nutrient cycling and the biochemistry we have been speaking about within this course. Science is pretty cool!

Peer Tutoring Available!

Parents: Did you know that GaVS has a Peer Tutoring Center that offers free tutoring for this course? Click here for a brief PowerPoint presentation that provides a little more information about the GAVS Peer Tutoring Center.

Please send me an email if you are interested in peer tutoring and I will help to facilitate a connection.
