This Week at MHS

Here's what is happening October 5th -16th

MHS Parents and Students,

We hope your family is enjoying FALL BREAK!

Students return to school on Thursday, September 15th. This newsletter is just an update to last week's edition.

Reminder - it is expected that all students will wear face coverings before school, during passing periods, at break, and any other times that social distancing cannot occur.

DECISIONS FOR SECOND SEMESTER

Any student/family (whether traditional, hybrid or digital right now) who wishes to begin the second semester (January through May) as a digital or hybrid student MUST contact your school counselor by 3pm on Tuesday, November 24th. This ensures enough time to make any necessary changes to student and teacher schedules prior to Winter Break. Please remember that in the second semester (January through May), the only opportunity to make a change from digital to hybrid or vice-versa will be at Spring Break. Students will be expected to remain in their chosen mode of instruction for a complete nine weeks.

Monday, October 12th - INTERVENTION DAY

Maryville High School will be holding subject specific intervention sessions on Monday, October 12th. Intervention will occur during morning and/or afternoon sessions. Morning sessions will begin at 8:30 and end at 11:30. Afternoon sessions will resume at 12:10 and end at 3:00. Students needing to attend the intervention day have been identified by their classroom teachers and should have brought home a letter providing additional information. Please contact your child's teacher if you have questions.

We will host financial aid representatives to help seniors and their parents with FAFSA completion during school hours AND from 5:30-7:30 pm (admissions reps from Pellissippi State and Roane State available to families during these evening hours). To minimize contact, we will be making individual appointments either in person at MHS OR via Zoom for FAFSA help.
