Building Bridges, Keeping Kids First

Dear Builta Families,

We had a lovely week as we held Meet and Greet, School Supply Drop Off Night, Kindergarten Orientation and began the start of the school year. It was exciting to see the bright eyes and eager faces of Builta students as they moved throughout the building this week.

Our first two days on Thursday and Friday were great! It was wonderful to have Builta students back in-person to learn, develop, and grow with their classmates and teachers. Students participated in the First Day of School Assembly where we celebrated our return to school and talked about the importance of showing respect to each other. We also had a bus assembly for our bus students to review bus expectations.

Over the next several weeks, students and their classmates will participate in class and team building activities in order to connect with each other. During the week of August 23, Builta teacher will review Stop, Walk, and Talk strategies with classes to give students tools to use for minor issues. Builta students will also continue to get to know their peers and teachers, learn classroom routines, work on academic skills, as well as enjoy themselves and have fun.

Builta Staff have many enjoyable and engaging experiences planned for our children. We are looking forward to an awesome year for our entire school community.

Week of August 30 is Safety Week at Builta

During Safety Week, we will teach lessons that will cover the mandatory drills for fire and tornado and also general school safety.

The following safety skills will be presented in age appropriate ways: listen to an adult, be alert, situational awareness, moving with a purpose, exit awareness and rally points.

These lessons are designed to cover the basic components of school safety without creating anxiety or worry in students.

We look forward to an engaging week with our students. Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school safe.
