Sea Level Rise

Sea Level Rise is a major problem
How can I create a presentation that will inform people how sea levels are rising due to global warming and deadly gases? Sea level rise is a major problem in the world. Scientist around the world are trying to find ways to get rid of that extra water. I selected this topic because I thought that the sea level rising would just be an interesting topic to research but it turned out to be a topic that is a major problem in the world.
Heat-trapping gases
Human activities cause sea level rise. Sea's have risen an average of three inches since 1992 and some locations are rising more than 9 inches. Over the past century the burning of fossil fuels and other human and natural activities has released a lot of heat- trapping gases into the atmosphere. These gases have caused the Earth's surface temperature to rise, and the ocean absorbs about 80% of that heat. Because of human activities the global average temperature has risen 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit since the 1880's.
Global Warming
Global warming is another major reason why sea levels are rising. For example, if glaciers and ice sheets melt then all that extra water would go into the ocean. Since the heat-trapping gases are already in the atmosphere that cause the temperature to increase then the sea levels will rise faster because as the ocean continues to warm, the land ice melts more rapidly.
"Seas around the world have risen an average of nearly 3 inches (8 centimeters) since 1992, with some locations rising more than 9 inches (25 centimeters) due to natural variation, according to the latest satellite measurements from NASA and its partners." says N.A.S.A.
This topic was very interesting and fun to research because before I thought that this topic was just a small problem. But after I actually researched this I realized that this was a major problem around the world. We can't really help prevent sea's from rising, but what we can do is educate people about this topic and maybe we will reduce the number of factories. So as long as people are aware of this problem I think that people will care more about the sea and how fast it is rising.
