Academics Division Message
Week of April 20, 2020
A Message form our Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Elizabeth Blanco
Dear PUSD Leaders and Staff:
Thank you for supporting and following the implementation of the new MOU's with CSEA, Teamsters and UTP. I am reminded as we work through these agreements, we are one PUSD Family with one common interest, to serve students and our community. We will continue to learn from each other and honor every voice as we are all equally important!
Our central hub for technology is open Thank You ITS and team!!
Excerpt April 21, 2020 Tech Bytes:
ITS is now providing direct support for PUSD managed devices and applications for students. Students can now submit their own support tickets by visiting gopusd.com/helpdesk while logged in to their PUSD accounts. Families can also reach the HelpDesk at 626-396-3699 in order to get real time support.
We are also busy planning our end of the year activities and senior celebrations, more to come soon!
Stay Healthy and Safe
Special Education-Updates
The Special Education Department created a Resource Guide for teachers and related services providers. The Resource Guide was previously shared; however we have received feedback that teachers are not aware of the Resource Guide. It is attached again.
A huge thank you to the principals that have participated as part of developing the SELPA Local Plan!!
College and Career
Summer Internships - The College & Career Department is still preparing students for Summer Internships. Currently, we are in the process of interviewing all 268 applicants with the help of our business partners. Although we do not yet know what the summer internship will look like we want to make sure our students are prepared and ready to go. We are taking this time to offer extra support and seminars for students who need the practice with interviewing skills. We are committed to working with our academy students and placing them when it is safe and responsible to do so. If needed, we will move the internships into the Fall semester and/or beyond. Our business partners have been extremely gracious and willing to work alongside us to "redefine" what an internship might look like in our current economy.
