Welcome Back! Important back to school information.
We are excited to embark on the 2022-2023 school year. School starts Monday, August 29th and it is a full day of school. If you are new to Fraser or a longtime student we are excited for you to start the school year. I would also like to welcome the class of 2026 as they start their career at Fraser High School. The building is ready and looks great thanks to all of the hard work from our Operations and Maintenance department. Our teachers have just finished two days of professional development to get ready for the school year. Our counselors and secretaries have been making sure the students have everything they need to start on Monday.
A few dates to remember to start the school year:
September 2-5 - Labor Day Recess
September 8 - Meet the Teacher
Student Schedules: We will have student schedules printed for each student to pick up on Monday Morning. If they do not have a schedule they should go to the counseling department firth thing. If a student needs a schedule change they can fill out the following link and the counselors will schedule a meeting: https://forms.gle/sAtuPMjqjCDzEr7X9
On the first day at 7:30am - All 10th, 11th and 12th grade students report to the following areas of FHS:
12th Grade : Last Name A-K First Floor 1700s
Last Name L-Z Second Floor 2700s
11th Grade: Last Name A-K First Floor 1300s
Last Name A-K First Floor 2300s
10th Grade: Last Name A-K First Floor 1100s
Last Name L-Z Second Floor 2100s
9th Grade: A-Z GYM
MacBooks: All students will receive a new MacBook and charger this school year. We will begin passing out MacBooks (starting with Seniors) on Wednesday, August 31. In order to receive a MacBook parent need to complete the MacBook Agreement: https://www.jotform.com/221603052543141
*If you have already submitted this year, you do not need to complete again.
Cell Phones: This school year we are expecting all students to not have their cell phones in classrooms. Each teacher will have a cell phone caddy in their classroom for students to place their phones in. Student may use their phones during passing time and during lunch. Student will not be permitted to have their phones/air pods during class time or SMART hour.
Dress Code: Please discuss with your student appropriate attire for school. The following types of clothing that are short shorts, low-cut, mid-drift, and sleeveless or tank tops will not be allowed and students will be asked to cover or change. Thank you for your cooperation.
Attendance: Regular attendance has been proven to be a key factor in the attainment of a good education. Active participation in class is an integral part of the student's total education. Whenever a student is absent from class, he/she has missed the interaction with teachers and other students which is so valuable to an education. This interaction can never be fully regained. Attendance in school is the responsibility of the student and his/her parents. It is the responsibility of the school to insure the regular attendance of students in accordance with the Michigan Compulsory Attendance law.
We will be reviewing attendance with students the first week of school. When a student reaches 8 absences in a class they will be placed on credit review. Three tardies to a class will equate to 1 unexcused absence. It is important for students to come to school and to get to class on time. Once a student reaches 11 absences they will lose credit in a class with a chance to appeal. Additionally, students may lose privileges of the following for the remainder of the semester:
- Not being able to scan out during SMART or Hybrid
- Cannot attend dances
- Cannot attend an athletic event
- Cannot take a hybrid course the following semester
*This will be reviewed in all classes and during meet the teacher night.
After School: Students are expected to leave FHS by 2:30pm each day unless they have an after school or extracurricular activity. The Media Center will be open until 3:30pm each day for students who have school work to complete.
We look forward to building a partnership with our families to ensure that your students get the most out of high school. If you have any questions, please reach out to me at Ryan.Sines@FraserK12.org.

Powder Puff
Please review the important information below regarding PowderPuff:
Last Chance to Sign up for PowderPuff
The annual Junior vs. Senior PowderPuff Game will take place on Monday, September 19. Our main registration took place in the Spring; however, if your child is still interested in participating, there will be a "last chance" sign up the first week of school. Registration will close Wednesday, August 31 at 2:30 pm. (The registration packet is attached.)
Coaches Needed
We are in need of 2-3 parents who are willing and able to coach our girls' powderpuff football team. No formal coaching experience is needed, but coaches should have a working knowledge of the basics of football and should feel comfortable running plays with the players and planning basic strategy for the game.
Powderpuff football is flag football style. A list of specific rules and policies will be provided to the coaches to guide them. Coaches would need to be available during practices and on game day. (The dates and time of practices are in the attached PowderPuff FAQ document.) Class sponsors will be present at all practices and the game to supervise students.
Please let us know if you are willing to help lead the Junior PowderPuff team to victory!
