Gently Used Uniform Event

We are fortunate to have many previously worn uniform pieces that have been graciously donated for use by current students. We would like to share these with those who are interested. Marian Central’s National Honor Society will be hosting a uniform event as detailed below:

Uniform Events

Monday, August 10th 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Tuesday, August 11th 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm


The following guidelines will be in place:


  • Interested families must make an appointment to attend. A limited number of appointments will be scheduled in 10-minute increments. Please exit as quickly as possible to stay within your 10-minute scheduled time.
  • Uniforms will NOT be allowed to be tried on for size.
  • Stock is available on a first-come, first-served basis. We cannot hold uniforms.
  • Please enter through Door #4 (Cafeteria) and exit through Door #5 (Cafeteria).
  • At this time, we are not accepting donations of uniforms. Please do not bring donations. We hope to be able to accept donations again in the near future.
  • Masks must be worn and social distancing must be practiced.

Freshmen Orientation

Orientation for freshmen students is Friday, August 14th. Additional information will be mailed to each freshman student. Please note that this is a half day of school this year, with dismissal at 12:15 pm

Bell Times

As a reminder, this year's bell times are 8:00 am to 2:40 pm.

Durham Bus Schedule

The Durham bus pickup and drop off times and locations will remain the same for this year.

Device Distribution

Student devices will be distributed the first week of school during class.

Immunization Documentation Due

Class of 2021

If you have not submitted proof of your student’s second meningococcal shot, please do so as soon as possible. We need all documentation in the office no later than October 15, 2020 to meet requirements set by the State of Illinois.


Class of 2024

We need current State of Illinois Certificate of Child Health forms and birth certificates no later than October 15, 2020. We will also need a Proof of School Dental Examination Form no later than May 15, 2021.

Lockers

All students will receive a locker this year. In past years, students were welcome to come to the school prior to the first day to load their lockers with books, etc. Unfortunately, this will not be permitted this year. Students are advised to bring their items to school gradually, beginning on the first day of school. Freshmen are welcome to begin bringing their belongings on Freshmen Orientation Day.

ID Cards and Lanyards

All students will be required to wear a Marian issued lanyard containing his/her Marian ID card. All freshmen will be issued ID cards on Freshmen Orientation Day. If your student has misplaced their ID card, please contact Mrs. Gillmeister at agillmeister@marian.com to request a new one. There will be no charge for this replacement ID card. However, after August 24th, replacement lanyards and ID cards will be $5 each.

Ordering Uniforms

Dennis Uniform is the official supplier of Marian Central. Please click here to place your order with Dennis. Per our reopening plan for 2020-2021, PE uniforms will not be required until further notice.

New Student Event

The new student/parent event scheduled for Thursday, August 13th is cancelled.

Student Schedules

Students schedules were mailed to homes on Tuesday, August 4th for those students who have paid tuition.

Emergency Contact Information

Prior to the beginning of each school year, it is imperative that we confirm the demographic and emergency information we have on file for each student.


In order to accomplish this, we will be emailing online update forms to each family.


The online form will present the information that is currently on file and ask for confirmation of each piece of information. The form will also allow for changes and updates as needed. Please watch your email for this important information.

College Planning Events

College Application Night, scheduled for Monday, August 17th at 6:30 PM, will be held as a virtual event. Please watch your E-mails for instructions about how to view the presentation at home on a computer. Again, all seniors and their families are encouraged to participate in this program; we’ll be covering a lot of information about the “who, what, when, where, why, and how” of college applications at Marian. Remember that a great deal has changed since I took over in the Fall of 2018! So even if you’ve been through this before with a family member before then, chances are things are very different now.


Mark your calendars for Financial Aid Information Night. This program is taking place on Tuesday, September 22nd at 6:30 PM. At this point, this program will also be virtual, but stay tuned in case we’re able to switch it over to an in-person event. This event is geared more toward parents than students…so students, you’re off the hook for this one! Our presenter will be Susan Teerink, the Director of Student Financial Services at Marquette University in Milwaukee. Susan does a fantastic job explaining how the FAFSA calculates a family’s need and answers many questions about need-based financial aid.

Volunteer Opportunity - Library

The Marian Central Library is looking for volunteers! Volunteers will help out during the school day with the following tasks:


  • Assist students with book check out procedures
  • Organize books and materials
  • Work with faculty on research materials
  • And more!
