APEX Fundraiser and Fun Run Begins Continues Through 10/22
A HUGE thank you for the wonderful fundraising effort we have seen in the first week of our APEX Fun Run fundraiser. Our school looks great and the students have enjoyed learning about leadership and making a positive impact on their community. We are excited about renovating our courtyard and creating a great space to learn.
Again, thank you for your continued support!

Halloween Activities
We are very excited to bring back our Halloween festivities this year! Please review the information below, updates and details will be provided through email and future Pine Run Posts.
- We will have our annual parade on the morning of 10/29, weather permitting. This will take place at approximately 9:15 on our playground. Students should come to school dressed in their costumes. Parents will be asked to view the parade from around the outside perimeter of the playground. Students will parade around the cones on the inside of the playground. K, 1st, and 2nd grade will start the parade followed by 3rd through 6th grades.
- We will have parties following the parade, around 9:45.
- We will play school-wide Halloween bingo at 11:00.
- This is a half-day of school, dismissal begins at 11:55 for grades 1-6. Kindergarten dismissal is at 11:10
You will receive a flyer for the event in NEXT week's Friday Folder.
We are looking forward to a spooktacular time!
Reminders for Volunteers
This school year the district has approved Classroom and Grade Level Field Trips and volunteers. If you wish to volunteer or chaperone your child's future planned event, please recognize that your clearances must be up to date with the Central Bucks School District.
If your clearances are up to date, simply upload them into the App Garden-Volunteer Tracker.
If your clearances have expired or if you need to begin the clearance process, simply click on Required Documents for the directions. Once you received the approved clearances, you may then upload them into the APP Garden-Volunteer Tracker.
For your convenience, I have attached the link to the Human Resources Volunteer Required Paperwork webpage.

CB SPARKS
Welcome back to Sparks. You will be receiving these articles on a regular basis through your building’s newsletter with the goal of career education for all Central Bucks students.
Last spring, the students in grades 3-6 were introduced to Smart Futures. Smart Futures is an online career development platform which focuses on grade-specific activities for students and manages the outcomes of the activities in a portfolio which meets the required PA Career Readiness Standards. Classroom teachers will be working with students in Smart Futures. Last year students in grades 3-6 completed a limited number of activities but this year we will be asking all elementary students to complete the activities for their grade. Any student who chooses can do the activities in the previous grade band to have a complete portfolio for career readiness. For the most part, students can do the earlier activities independently so it might be an opportunity for you to see Smart Futures at home with your daughter or son. We are asking students not to go beyond the activities assigned to their grade.
SF allows students to discover what they like to do, learn about careers they might want to investigate and even how to develop a budget. To learn more about SF, watch this short video and you can always ask your child to log onto SF to see what they are learning.

NEW Technology and Device Reminders
Two Important Reminders:
1. We still have a large number of families that have not completed the CB 1:1 Laptop/iPad Agreement and have not paid the $10 fee in MyPaymentsPlus. If this is not completed students, with an outstanding balance, will not be able to take devices home beginning 10/29.
2. Currently, the Technology and Innovation Department blocks Microsoft Office 365 logins to Outlook, OneDrive, ClassLink, and Canvas from foreign countries. This aids in protecting our CBSD user accounts and organization from malicious computer attacks from outside of the United States.
Students who travel cannot assume their devices will work once they leave the United States. For student out-of-country access requests, please know that access to technology for vacations will not be approved at this timeAmazon Smile
AmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way for you to support a charity of your choice every time you shop, at no cost to you. AmazonSmile is available at smile.amazon.com on your web browser and can be activated in the Amazon Shopping App for iOS and Android phones. AmazonSmile will be listed in the Settings menu; from there, you can follow onboarding instructions to activate the program on your device.

CB Cares Backpack Newsflash
Please enjoy the September CB Cares newsletter, highlighting some of the great things our CB students and staff have done over the last few months.
All students, staff members, and visitors are required to wear face coverings while inside our school building and on school buses. This was a result of the Order of the Acting Secretary and the new Health and Safety Plan, which was approved by the CBSD Board of Education on August 31, 2021.
Individuals, including students, staff, parents, and all visitors, who wish to request a mask exception must carefully review and submit the Central Bucks School District’s face covering exemption form. NO other form will be accepted for reason of exemption from the face-covering order. Please send the signed hard copy form to school with your child if they will not be wearing a mask.
I encourage all families to have a conversation with their child around the topic of face coverings. Each child should understand proper mask-wearing behaviors, as well as your family's personal expectations. My hope is that it will ensure students are following the directive of their parents while also following the procedures and guidelines put in place for all.
Please know teachers and staff will provide gentle reminders, to those students wearing masks, to keep them fitted correctly, covering the mouth and nose and not under their chin.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we move forward.
