National Junior Honor Society
Our National Junior Honor Society moderator, Mrs. Abgarian, met with students last Thursday that are eligible to be inducted based on their academic performance from the 1st and 2nd marking periods. She gave the candidates an application to fill out and return by Friday, March 8th to be considered for the honor society.

Mental Health Fair- Part 2
On Friday, students worked in small groups to discuss positive and negative results of how we deal with conflict, the difference between observation and judgement, and how to ground yourself and calm down before entering a conflict. The students and staff enjoyed the sessions and we are looking forward to continuing the discussions later in the school year.
Kindness Challenge
February 1st was the kickoff for a kindness challenge for our students. This will last for the month of February.
The students were given a checklist. The challenge is to complete the kindness acts and get the signatures of the people for whom they do the acts for, to verify that it was done. Papers will be collected each Friday by Student Council and hearts will be placed on the wall for each category each student completes.
If the students fill the cafeteria wall with hearts, they will earn a movie. When they complete all of the tasks, the students will place their sheet in the box in the cafeteria for a random drawing for an individual prize at the end of each week. Five students will win each week.
The overall goal, of course, is to add more love and kindness to our amazing school and to show our students just how much helping others can provide a warm, fuzzy feeling that wants to be repeated.
Black History Month
February is Black History Month. At Scott we are celebrating and learning about a different influential person each morning. On Fridays there is a trivia question to answer for a prize. Last week we learned about Jackie Robinson, Morgan Freeman, Barack Obama, and Kamala Harris. Students and staff are looking forward to learning about and appreciating these important historical figures.
