School starts Monday, August 22, 8:00 a.m.--we are so excited to see our students! The building will be open at 7:30 a.m. Breakfast begins at 7:40.

COVID Update

In accordance with the most recent CDC guidelines, the Miller County R-III School District will be publishing an updated Return to School Plan within the next week. Board-approved guidelines include a 5-day isolation period for students/staff who test positive for COVID with a recommendation to wear a mask for an additional 5 days. Close contacts are recommended to mask for 10 days after their last contact with the positive case. We will not be contact tracing; however, we will remain diligent with our cleaning and sanitization procedures. We will also continue to offer free testing to students and staff. Students who participate in sports or other extra-curricular activities will fall under the same guidelines for those activities. We will continue to revisit our plan regularly and make adjustments as our community numbers or CDC guidelines change.

As we get ready to go back to school, it's time to make sure students are up-to-date on their required immunizations. If your student is entering kindergarten, 8th grade, or 12th grade, you will need to have his or her vaccinations updated. The MCR3 board policy on this can be found here, and Miller County Health Department guidance is here. The health department provides immunizations, and free or a reduced price may be available. You can contact them at (573) 369-2400.

Students who do not have their required immunizations up to date by Tuesday, September 6, will be excluded from attending school until they provide proof of immunization.

Help with Home Internet Bills

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) provides eligible households up to $30/month toward their internet bills, as well as a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet.

All households with a child who was approved to receive free or reduced price school meals under the National School Lunch Program or the School Breakfast Program, within the last 12 months, including children who attend schools participating in the Community Eligibility Provision, are eligible for ACP benefits. Households are also independently eligible if (1) their income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level ($55,500 for a family of four); or (2) a member of the household participates in certain other Federal benefit programs—including, among others, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), Medicaid, and Federal Public Housing Assistance.

To further lower costs, commitments were secured from internet service providers across the country to offer high-speed plans that are fully covered by the ACP. As a result, millions of working families can now get high-speed internet without paying a dime.

Breakfast and Lunch Prices

Meal prices for the 2022-23 school year will be:

Breakfast: $1.70

Reduced breakfast: $0.30

K-8 lunch: $2.15

9-12 lunch: $2.30

Reduced lunch (K-12): $0.40

Extra milk: $0.45

Extra servings: $0.50 (after everyone is served)

Extra milk and extra servings charges apply to everyone, including those on free/reduced lunch.

We would like to encourage everyone to complete a free/reduced lunch application. Some of the money we receive is determined by our percentage of students who qualify for free/reduced lunch, and the more families who can take advantage of this program, the more financial aid the district can qualify for. This paperwork is in enrollment packets and can be picked up in the office.
