Kindergarten is the best!! :)
Getting to know Mrs. Lee
This is my 5th year at GOES and I have taught 2 years of GA Pre-K. I love this age group!
I have lived in Gwinnett County my whole life. I actually went to GO, FFMS and BHS. I am a proud Alumni of the Brookwood community. I have been married for a little over 4 years. I live in Atlanta with my husband Andrew, our son Oliver (16 months) and our two dogs, Milo and Ghost.
Andrew and I are huge tennis fans. We met playing tennis and we still play today. We actually went to Wimbledon for our honeymoon! :)
What we did this past week:
Word Work: We worked on letter p and b sounds and words that start with these letters.
Reading/S.S: As a class we discussed class rules , routines, how to be a good friend, etc.
Writing: We discussed how to tell a story by drawing a detailed picture.
Math: During our math workshop we have been discussing sorting and how to use our math manipulatives in the classroom.
Parents!
What we are doing this week

**Make sure to read every night for at least 20 minutes.**
Social Studies: During this time we will be discussing how to be respectful, honest, loyal and making good choices at school.
Math Workshop: We will continue sorting math manipulatives by singing songs, using math tools, etc.
We had an awesome week! We are going to have a wonderful year!! :)
A message from our PBIS Committee
Parents,
We have an exciting school wide initiative for the 2018-2019 school year! Gwin Oaks Elementary School will be a PBIS School.
What is PBIS?
PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions Support) is a framework that will give Gwin Oaks Elementary School unified school expectations. Similar to the Gwin Oaks Elementary School Handbook, these rules will define our expectations for behavior in our school. You will see these expectations posted throughout the school and your child will be learning them during his or her first days at school. Our unified school expectations, found in every classroom and non-classroom setting in the school, are as follows:
Be Ready
Be Respectful
Be Responsible
As part of our PBIS process, teachers and other staff members use the discipline data we accumulate to develop evidence-based practices to increase student learning and decrease classroom disruptions. We will have incentives to encourage students to adopt the expectations in a positive manner. We look forward to sharing more with you and your student for the 2018-2019 school year.
