Thank you for making Walk to School Day a success! It was a beautiful morning to take a walk to school and breath the fresh air—fewer carbon emissions around school thanks to fewer cars!
Special thanks to Mrs. Hoffmann, Alderwoman Byrne, Mrs. Osman, Mrs. Hanks, Mrs. Petitt, and Mrs. Botelho for leading Walking School Buses. It was great to see so many groups walking together and holding signs. The Walking School Bus leaders were overwhelmed with the number of students who joined the “bus”. Thank you to Mrs. Merriman for leading students again in the “Pedestrian Safety Dance”- it gets better every year! Thank you to Amy Standal, Firefly Real Estate for providing apples and Cindi Lambert, Wauwatosa Public Health Department, for passing out apples. Safe Kids, SE Wisconsin donated 8 “Clifford Walks to School” books that were read in the JK, SK, and 1st grade classrooms.
Way to Walk students in Mr. Sperl’s and Mrs. Simek’s K5 classes- both classes had 94% of students walk to school on Wednesday.
