Denison State School

Week 1, Term 4

Dearest Denison Staff,

I hope that this week's flyer find you very well rested and recharged to tackle the final term of the academic year.

As you well know, Term 4 is quite full on with everything that schools immerse students in going into the end of the academic year. Whilst Term 4 is very busy it is also, I find, one of the most rewarding terms. Term 4 provides educators the opportunity to really reflect on their successes in progressing students academically, emotionally and socially over the academic year. At the same time as reflecting on the positive progress of the children in our care we must also take the time to reflect on our own professional and personal growth over the year in relation to the goals that we have set for ourselves.

This week I would like to acknowledge Wade, Jess, Elyse and Joel who have all received transfers to their chosen schools or regions for 2017. We will savour the remaining weeks of your professional and personal company. So far we have Braedon Reis (Narangba Valley SS), Lisa McAlpine (Berseker SS) and Haylee Marslen (SCU Graduate) who will be joining the Dension State School family in 2017.

I am very much looking forward to seeing you and hearing of your holiday sojourns.

Have a cracking first week!
