December Delights
We had a lot of fun doing holiday activities this week. We laced mittens, cut lines and put candy cane stickers on our papers, glued sequins onto gingerbread men, sorted big and little holiday objects, and made ornaments for our families. We practiced prepositions by taking turns putting ornaments on the tree and presents under the tree. We also played a memory game and tried to find pictures that were the same. During circle time, we read holiday books and practiced answering wh- questions (e.g., "who is wearing a red shirt?"). For P.E., we worked on alternating feet while walking up and down the stairs and we rode tricycles around on the path. Ms. Jen led freeze tag outside, and then the kids worked together to dress a snowman.
With our friends from Room 15, we played with "snow," made cards, and learned a new game called What's Different, in which one child stands in front of the group for everyone to see, and then leaves and comes back with something different (e.g., puts on a hat, takes off shoes, etc.). We enjoyed playing restaurant in our dramatic play area and putting cookies out for Santa. On Thursday, we had a party with our friends from Ms. Julie's class, which was followed by a visit from Santa!!
