Principal's Message
Hello Ride Families,
I want to start with expressing my respect for Dr. Null and the difficult decisions he has had to make this week. He is a genuine person who truly puts our kids first. I am very proud to work with him and the Conroe school district.
We have all been anticipating the first day of school with great excitement. This Monday, August 31st, we will have the Pk, Kn, and 1st graders join us. We will also have 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders whose last name begins with the letters A-C come Monday.
Friday, Sept.4th - No 2nd, 3rd, or 4th grade students come to school. They will have on line instruction that day. Teachers will use time during the day to make any necessary changes to routines, procedures, transitions, etc.... to prepare for everybody returning on Sept. 8th.
CISD has updated its Roadmap to Reopening to include the requirement for all students to wear Face coverings in the following areas: buses, common areas, rest rooms, café, transitions and when 6' social distancing is not possible. We are asking all PK-,K and 1st grade students to bring/wear masks to school at this time. Please know that we understand some students may not wish to wear a mask. We know it is a process and we will continue to teach our students to wear a mask each day. The teachers will use positive reinforcement and mask breaks to help this be a successful transition.
We have created a document and a video to help give you an idea of what to expect at Ride during arrival, class time, and dismissal :
Please note:
Entering school, lunches, and forgotten items:
- The school opens at 7:30am each day. The school is closed prior to that time. Parents will not be allowed inside the building or in large gathering areas.
- Send lunches with child in the morning. If a lunch is forgotten, please have child eat cafe lunch that day.
- Send a water bottle clearly labeled with students' name on it. The district is installing a water bottle refill station for ease with refilling bottles safely.
- All forgotten work or papers may not be dropped off. Please scan or take pic and email to the teacher. All papers are turned in and not touched for 72 hours.
Dismissal: Please make sure your teacher knows how your child is going home.
Instructional Selection: The option to select Online or In person learning deadline was July 28th. Families are asked to make any changes to their instructional selection at the end of the 9 week grading period. Any extenuating circumstances since that date will need to be discussed and/or approved by the principal, Megan Burnham.
PTO-- Please take a moment to join PTO and purchase school shirts and spirit items. This will be our only format for fundraising this Fall. We really appreciate your support. See below.
Our wonderful PTO is have a "Back to School Rocks activity!! Please see below for details.

Screen your child prior to coming to School
Our parents are valued partners in our Roadmap to Reopening Plan. In addition to wearing cloth face coverings, social distancing, washing hands, and regular cleaning and disinfecting of frequently touched surfaces, an essential element in helping slow the spread of COVID-19 at school is each parent’s commitment to screening their child daily for symptoms. Parents are also asked to keep any student exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 at home and to notify the campus. Attached is a copy of the current screening process which outlines the symptoms. Please review the information and be sure to keep your child at home if he/she is exhibiting any of the symptoms described.
Please note that all campuses are closed to visitors at this time to help stop the spread of COVID-19. If you must visit a campus, we ask that you screen yourself prior to leaving your home. All visitors that come on a campus/facility will be required to use the Access Intercom system or call the front office from their vehicle. Once the reception area identifies the person and their need to be on campus, they will be allowed in the building. All visitors will be required to sign in using the visitor program. Each visitor will be asked the screening questions. If a “yes” response is given to one of the questions, the visitor will be asked to leave the campus immediately.
Parent/teacher conferences, ARDS, 504 meetings etc. will be held virtually or by telephone when possible.
Thank you for helping to keep our school community safe.
Sincerely,
Megan Burnham
Principal

CISD will send out Report Card each 9 weeks. If you receive a grade in a class/subject, then you should participate in that class.
