Narrative writing practice Tuesday 31st
Our 3rd grade will be taking a practice narrative writing prompt that will be sent out and scored. This is a checkup on our students progress and gives us some feedback on how they are progressing and what we need to do to advance their writing. You don't need to do anything to prep them, I just wanted you to know about the event.
What we are learning
Fossils
Our learning focus is on how fossils are made and different characteristics of four types of fossils.
Eleanor Roosevelt
We will be examining the traits and influence of the FDR's wife and first lady. As FDR's eyes and ears, she was able to witness and impact the world around her.
Quadrilaterals
We are learning to identify different types of quadrilaterals and their characteristics. Students will consider lines and angles in their study. Additionally, rotation and size.
Building a community that you are proud to be part of
Please encourage your students to be purposeful in their learning focus and kind toward others. Our kids have done a tremendous job this year treating each other decently and we want to continue to build on that. We are seeking to help your child be confident, positive and develop strong daily learning habits that will serve them all their lives.
Super Bowl!
Which side do you want to win? While I am a Tom Brady fan (he went to Michigan!), I will be pulling for the Falcons. Why? 50+ years without a Super Bowl win: Atlanta is due. Atlanta is also where my family calls home (Gwinnett... close enough). So, my apologies to Tom but I have to go with the Falcons this time. I hope Tom has a very good game, but Rise Up Falcons!
