Kids with ADHD
Getting wrong medicine
Many kids may be getting strong doses of antipsychotic drugs meant for diseases such as schizophrenia and bipolar disease in order to cure their ADHD. A lot of these kids are getting no diagnosis either. This means they can get dangerous side effects, and also may lack proper treatment for ADHD.
The problem is that doctors prescribe these drugs to calm the patients down. While this may work, it often makes the patients feel like a different person, which they dislike. Along with that, it can cause weight gain, metabolic disorders, and affect brain development.
