Cafe Virtuoso - January 28: All 7th & 8th Grade Band students

Our 7th & 8th Grade bands (Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble) will be performing at Vines High School for the Cafe Virtuoso on Saturday evening, January 28th. Please look below for more details on the times and schedule.

Plano Ensemble Contest - February 3: 7th & 8th Grade Band students

Our 7th & 8th Grade brass and woodwind students (not percussion) will be performing at the Plano Ensemble Contest at Schimelpfenig Middle School on the evening of Friday, February 3rd. The contest will run from 5-8:20pm, and each ensemble will be assigned a 10 minute time slot for there performance during that time. Once the time slot is finished students may leave. A detailed schedule will be coming soon. Please note that we will be collecting $10 from participating students starting next week (January 23).

Plano Percussion Chamber Music Festival: Friday, Feb 17 and Saturday, Feb 18

Wind Ensemble & Symphonic Band Percussionists:


All Symphonic & Wind Ensemble Percussionists will perform their ensemble on Friday, February 17. Everyone will need to click on the button below to register and pay the entry fee.



If you are performing a solo (through your private lesson teacher), you need to also register and pay for it in the same form. Also, all soloists are required to bring an original copy of their solo for the judge to reference. Please number all measures. Middle schools may utilize one original collection or book for their solo performances, if applicable. All student-prepared ensembles are required to bring an original copy of their ensemble for the judge to reference. Percussion staff will have school-assigned ensemble originals.


If you prefer to not pay through the online process, please be aware an $8 fee accompanies every event you are a member of and is due as soon as possible. For non-online payments, please mail your entry fees, checks made out to "Plano Band Boosters" to:

After school Band Clinics

We are excited to announce that we have hired some great teachers from outside PISD to come and work with our Symphonic Band and our Wind Ensemble. The event will include a one hour rehearsal to help us prepare for our PreUIL & UIL concerts as well as a pizza party after. Please see details for each group below:


Wind Ensemble: Tuesday, February 14th from 3:45-5:15pm

Symphonic Band: Wednesday, February 22nd from 3:45-5:00pm

Studio Movie Grill - Band Social Event

All Wilson Band members are invited to attend our upcoming social event on Wednesday, February 8th. We will be watching "Puss in Boots." The exact time will be shared with you soon. It will cost $22 to attend. The cost covers the price of admission, an entree, drink, and popcorn.

Please welcome Mrs. Abby Buniva to our staff!

Mrs. Buniva was hired in December to be our full time Associate Director of Bands at Wilson. Her first official day was last week, but she has been observing our students and getting acquainted with our students since being hired. She also just got married yesterday! Congrats!

Mrs. Buniva will be leading the Symphonic and Concert Bands, as well as the Beginning Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Saxophone, and Clarinet classes. Her email contact presently is abby.austin@pisd.edu until her name can be formally changed with the district.

Plano Middle School Drum Line

For all percussionists (6th-8th grade) interested in joining the Plano Middle School Drum Line, please see the flyer below. There is an informational meeting Monday at 7pm, January 9th, in the Plano SHS Band Hall.

We have a Student Teacher working with us this semester

Please join us in welcoming our new student teacher, Mr. Jesse Aguilar. He comes to us from Texas A&M Commerce. He will be working with all of our classes and at Vines HS throughout the end of the semester.

Spring Semester Sectional Schedule in effect for Symphonic Band & Wind Ensemble

Please see the schedule below for Symphonic Band & Wind Ensemble Schedules. Students with before school sectionals need to knock on the exterior band hall door to be let into the building. This schedule goes into effect beginning Monday, January 9th.

PISD Instrument Usage Contract / Fees are UPLOADED!

If your student is using a Plano ISD instrument, you will need to complete an instrument contract. Please click the button below to fill out that form.


The yearly $85 fee associated with using a PISD instrument is uploaded into RYCOR. If your child is enrolled in the free/reduced lunch program the fee will be automatically reduced to either $50 or $25 when the fee is added to the system.
