How the Government Advertised World War I
Uncle Sam
Everyone knew who Uncle Sam was. With his image on posters the government was hoping to persuade young men to join and help win the war.
For The War
Anyone Can Help
It was very necessary for people to try and save as much as they could. Ordinary people could make a difference, and these posters showed that. "Save a loaf a week" was a message to all those people at home.
The Allies
Transfer propaganda were made to get support from everyone they could. This one in particular shows how united they were making the audience feel more secure about the war.
Enlist
The government would try many tactics to convince men to join the wat. This poster shows the ugly side of losing the war, convincing men to enlist as soon as possible before it was too late.
War Today
Army Strong
Both men and women are being persuaded to join the army. They are telling their audience what they believe the army is about and what you could offer as well.
