What We're Learning

Writing - Unit 4, opinion writing, continues. Writers immersed themselves in literary essays and compared each structure. We found that the structure of a literary essay is basically the same as the classic essay: lead, thesis statement, reason with support (repeated 3 times) and ends with a conclusion. The difference with the literary essay is the structure is based on a piece of literature. Students have chosen their story and the focus. Last week the introduction drafts were written and posted in SeeSaw. This week began the hard work of supporting our thesis statements on reasons with textual support.
