BEGINNING BAND INFORMATION
Peak Music Festival- Requirements
When: Friday, April 26
Who? Select Beginning Band Members
Where: McKinney Boyd High School
600 Lake Forest Dr, McKinney, TX 7507
Purpose: Students that have met the skill requirements, and attend all after school rehearsals will participate in the Peak Music Festival. Students will compete against other beginning bands. A rating will be issued to the ensemble as well as consideration for the top honor of the day of “Best in Class”.
Requirements
Brass and Woodwind Players-Must Pass-Off at least 8 scales prior to April 5.
Percussion Players-See Pass-Off Sheet from Mr. Jennings.
Required After School Rehearsals-If a student misses a rehearsal then they lose the privilege to attend the contest. Having EVERY member there is vital to the success of our performance.

PARENTS WILL BE NOTIFIED OF STUDENTS IN JEOPARDY OF NOT MEETING REQUIREMENTS VIA EMAIL ON APRIL 1.
Performance Day Itinerary-NOT FINAL-SUBJECT TO CHANGE
**All Students will wear band t shirt and jeans**
9:11- Come to the band hall at the end of 1st period
9:30-10:15- Rehearsal
10:30-Load Busses and Depart
11:00-Arrive at McKinney Boyd High School
11:30-Warm-Up
12 PM.-Perform
12:15- Depart for lunch(TBD)
2:00 p.m.-Arrive back at Scoggins-Go to 7th period
STUDENTS WHO DO NOT MEET REQUIREMENTS WILL ATTEND CLASS AS NORMAL THAT DAY.

Please visit with Mr. Davis directly about your conflict. 8th Grade girls please try to make arrangement for transportation to get to Liberty for your game. Perhaps car pooling would be a possibility.
UIL Contest ITINERARY
Parents we would love to see as many of you there as possible! Your support really does help us to perform at our best.
Itinerary
11:31-11:50 - Eat Lunch in Band Hall/Change
12:00 -12:40 - Rehearsal
12:50 pm - Load buses
1:00 pm - Depart
1:30 pm - Warm up at Independence HS
2:00 pm - Stage performance
2:30 pm. - Sight reading performance
3:25 pm - Arrive back at Scoggins
Transportation
We will be riding Frisco ISD buses scheduled for this event and will return before the end of the day. No student pick-up is available at Independence High School.
Lunch
Due to the timing of our UIL students will need to bring a sack lunch to eat in the band hall. We will have a brief rehearsal before departing to IHS for our UIL performance.
