Leadership Retreat 2016

I want to brag on the members of the 2016-2017 Leadership Team. They brought their best this past Wednesday and they represented all of you and our students with great passion, professionalism, collaboration, and focus. They have a true heart for East Paulding Middle School, and I cannot wait to see what happens next year.

They may share with you that they really didn't make any decisions, but don't worry because making decisions wasn't the focus. The focus was to challenge each one of them as individuals, to challenge them as a team, and challenge them to challenge you. I hope you are ready!

By now, I am sure you have seen that the State DOE has finally released CCRPI scores from last year. I am very excited about the progress that was made from the previous year, and while I was not a part of last year's success, I am still proud of all of you!

Let's continue the great things that have been happening at EPMS, and let's push for even more growth in the coming years. I believe in you, I believe in our students, and there is not a doubt in my mind that we can accomplish our goals with focus, optimism, and dedication from each individual!

GA Milestones and Promotion/Retention

The State DOE has made the decision to waive promotion/retention requirements that hinge on the GA Milestones. Early next week, we will know if our district will be offering retakes. While the retakes will have no bearing on promotion/retention, it could most definitely affect CCRPI. As soon as we know something, we will pass along that information.

We will soon be having grade level meetings to discuss students who are failing 2 or more subjects. A date will be communicated early next week. Push your students to continue to work hard and remind them that they must pass 5 of 6 courses to be promoted. Students who do not meet those requirements will not be in control of their future in regards to promotion and/or retention...encourage them to keep the power!
