The Falcon Flash

Foskett Ranch Elementary Newsletter

November 13, 2018

Our hearts go out to all those affected by the California wildfires, and great appreciation is extended to those fighting them.

The fires have greatly affected the air quality in the last couple of days. Please know that the office and I monitor the air quality in Lincoln using a couple of websites to determine if the students can play outside, need to follow a restricted recess (slow walking or standing/sitting/talking on the playground or need to follow the rainy day recess schedule (inside recess). Today has been the worst day thus far regarding air quality, and we needed to implement the rainy day recess schedule.

Next week school will be closed for Thanksgiving. Have a wonderful week with your family and friends.

Donations to Help Fire Victims

K-Kids is going to extend Socktober collections of personal care items, socks, mittens, hats etc. We will be arranging to send donations to the victims of the fire devastation in Paradise. Clear out those hotel toiletries, and toothpaste and brushes from the dentist (ask for more if you have a dental visit this week). You can drop off donations in the office or Room 108.

Donations of pet food are also welcome, as Fieldhaven the cat rescue we've helped before, is helping with evacuated pets from the Paradise area. Both dog and cat food and other pet items are welcome.

Thank you for helping K-Kids be of service to others.

Canned Food Drive

Foskett Ranch is helping the local Lincoln Lions club by collecting canned food to be distributed to families to ensure they have a nice Thanksgiving meal. Our school wide goal is 1,000 cans of food (that's 2 to 3 cans per student). Start watching for Lion's donation boxes around campus.

Attention Fourth Grade Parents

If anyone is interested in coordinating refreshments to sell at Starstruck, please let the office know. This would be an easy fundraiser to help towards the cost of Fort Bragg.

The Fort Bragg interest letter went home with students this week and is due back by Friday, November 16th.
