Our Christmas season came to a close with the Feast of Epiphany (January 6th) and we have settled into Ordinary time for the month of January.

For Epiphany, we blessed all the classroom and school doors with the 20 + C + M + B + 23 message with blessed chalk from Father Roger. It is a wonderful New Year tradition that students learned all about in our assembly. Be sure to check out the doorways!

We look forward to some awesome Monday Morning Liturgies led by our teacher teams full of amazing lessons from the Gospel!

At CKCS, we have a Spirit Day every other Friday. A theme is set and students are invited to dress up to show their school spirit. It is completely optional and not mandatory! Often we add to the fun by changing up our school bells etc. to match the theme!

The Charger Basketball teams have officially kicked off the season with practices on Monday/Thursday (boys) and Tuesday (girls) from 3:30-5:00pm.

They compete in the surrounding CARA league every week so be sure to attend a game and cheer them on!

On Friday, January 20th, CKCS will be hosting a Winter Fun Day for K-9. The day will be filled with lots of activities such as sledding, fort building, snow painting and snacks!

We are looking for donations to be made. If you can help out, please send into the school by Thursday! We are looking for:

• hot chocolate
• marshmallows
• spoons
• cups
• food colouring
• squirt bottles

The next School Council Meeting will be on Monday, January 16, 2023 @ 7pm. It will be in-person with a virtual option.

School Council plays a very vital role at Christ-King. They fundraise to provide events for our students, they organize hot lunches, staff appreciation and so many other activities. Since they do so many things for our school, it does take volunteer power. Please consider coming! We know life gets busy so you do not need to attend every meeting, nor are you expected to volunteer for every event in the year. Please just help out as you can!

We are so very proud of our results from the 2022 Spring Assurance surveys completed by parents, students and staff of CKCS. Mrs. McMillan will be presenting on our results and CKCS' plans for the future in an upcoming School Council meeting - stay tuned!
