People of the American Revolution

Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson was a great writer and his opinions had a great impact on the American Revolution and society still today. He wanted independence from Great Britain just as much as any other colonists and was considered a patriot. The Declaration of Independence was a huge part of why we separated from England. Many people agreed with his views and was though as a great writer and thinker. He also was a large factor in writing the Constitution which is still in affect to this day
John Locke
John Locke lived during the Enlightenment age. He was known for his philosophy and his ideals. He questioned society and the rules and regulations of it. Just as our founder fathers of the United States did. Many of his ideas were incorporated into the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. One of his main ideas was independence which was what the colonists were trying to get from England. The words "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" were also based of Locke's ideas
