The Basic Structures of Bacteria

By: Sanjith Thamizhan

Bacteria is a prokaryotic cell that has many different features that are not found in other prokaryotes. They are typically a few micrometers in length and vary in many different shapes and sizes due to their structures. These structures include:

  • Nucleoid

  • Genophore

  • Plasmids

  • Endospore

  • Cytoplasm

  • Periplasmic Space

  • Ribosomes

  • Plasma Membrane

  • Cell Wall

  • In some species there is flagellum
