GoFundMe for SBFD FF Mike Kowalski
Hi, thank you for taking the time to check out our fundraising page for Mike Kowalski.
Mike Kowalski? Who is he?
I'm glad you asked, Mike has served on the South Bend Fire Department for 38 years and is months away from retirement.
Apart from being one of the most knowledgeable firefighters on the job, Mike is an avid hobbyist from trains, to tanks, to firefighting. On a brief side note, Mike loved his hobbies. Mike actually owns and maintains a tank. Mike is passionate about his World War I/II reenactments. Mike was not actually a German tank commander he just plays one, if you need further proof just check out his last name. I hope this better helps explain some of the pictures in the movie clip.
Mike loves serving the public and never complains about the nature of his work. Mike is dependable, hard working, and passionate about teaching and helping others. Mike has shared his broad knowledge with a number of firefighters and has never hesitated helping someone learn more.
Now is our time to not hesitate to help Mike.
On the night of January 16th earlier this year he was driving home and got hit by a drunk driver. Mike's brain was injured in that accident and he was placed in a medically induced coma.
After several days he was taken out of his coma but he has not woken up yet.
Mike has bruises on his brain and although he is recovering physically we are all still waiting from him to wake up.
We are trying to raise at least $10,000 immediately so when he wakes up he can enjoy a long retirement and not have to worry about medical costs that are accruing. Please spread the word to your family, friends, and on social media.
Please keep Mike and his Family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank You from the bottom of our hearts.
