OEMS Staff Meet "Virtually" Every Day
We are approaching the end of our 3rd week of academic Distance Learning. In a previous executive order by Governor Walz, schools across Minnesota were asked to prepare for a return to school on May 5. We have since learned that Distance Learning will continue through the end of the school year, June 5.
Tomorrow, May 1, and Monday, May 4, are planning and development days for all educators across our state, in preparation for the remainder of the year. Teachers will not be interacting with students until Tuesday, May 5.
If your child has questions or concerns about the content in Google Classroom or printed paper packets, please have them reach out or leave a message for their teachers. All messages left on school voicemail are accessible by teachers working remotely.
Food service and packet pick-up/drop off schedules remain intact through June 5. If there are any changes or extensions, we will make sure to communicate with you.
I plan to send a weekly message out to all families, through June 5. It will be disseminated through IC Messenger and a link will be posted on the OEMS webpage.
The staff of Ordean East Middle School are here for you. Your safety and well-being is our number one concern. Stay open with communication. We are better together!
Sincerely,
Gina Kleive, principal

The content posted on Google Classroom is the same as what is printed in paper packets. Screenagers- Next Chapter (Before May 11)
Filmmaker and physician Dr. Delaney Ruston takes the conversation around screens and teens to the next level with "Screenagers NEXT CHAPTER: Uncovering Skills for Stress Resilience"—a film that examines the science behind teen’s emotional challenges, the interplay of social media, and most importantly, what can be done in our schools and homes to help them build crucial skills to navigate stress, anxiety, and depression in our digital age. Access to the film is only available until May 11! Register for your private viewing today!
