EPAHS Awarded Pennsylvania State School of Character

Big picture

We are Panther Proud to announce that East Pennsboro Area High School has been named a 2023 State School of Character! Schools around the country went through a rigorous application process for this prestigious honor, and only 73 schools nationwide were named. In fact, our high school is the only school in the entire state of PA to be chosen.

The selection criteria were based on “…creating a caring school community where everyone feels they belong, providing students with opportunities to practice and reflect on their character strengths, and engaging families and communities as partners in the school’s character initiative.” It was noted in the award letter that our Character Education Committee has “…worked very hard and extensively…to lead and inspire all levels and stakeholders within the high school.”

We are thankful for the leadership of Mr. Dan Peck and Mr. Brian Moore, along with our Character Education Committee members Kelly Burkhart, Dave Blom, Margeaux Cronce, Leanne Sanders, Melina Mousoupetros, Betsy Standland, Ann Wotring, Stephen Rutt, Kirah Hoachlander, Christina Zeller, and Hillary Miller in securing this honor. We are Panther Proud!

Alumni Spotlight

On a trip from Northern PA to Enola, our HS Principal just wanted some Chick-fil-A for lunch.

Thanks to Google, a location was found in Bloomsburg, Pa. Upon arrival, he realized he was on the campus of Bloomsburg University.

To his surprise, within minutes, two EP Alumni greeted their former principal with a smile and heartfelt welcome to Bloomsburg!

It was great seeing Leah Samuel and Brianna Kirk both from our Class of 2020!

Alum Jaron Campbell - THON

EP Proud of Alum Jaron Campbell for his tireless work as the DJ Coordinator of Penn State's THON.

Jaron started participating in Mini-THON during middle school and continued through his years at the high school, which culminated in being an Overall Chair his senior year. His passion for THON has continued during his time at PSU, and he has spent the last three years as part of the entertainment committee. Last year, he was one of seven DJs, and this year, he is one of two DJ coordinators.
