Lake Wilderness Wildcats
September 2023 Edition
Dear Wildcat Families
Hello Lake Wilderness Families!
It has been a wonderful start to the year for all of our wildcats- and this week we welcomed our youngest learners- preschool! Thank you all for supporting your learners as they adapt to their new routine as they grow hearts and minds this school year.
We are looking forward to another year of inspiring learning and leaders with student voice! Please see the information attached for opportunities for student leaders at school. Interested student leaders should return their application by this Friday.
This month we are focused on showing the wildcat way as well as the future-ready skill of being community contributors. You can hear more about this monthβs future-ready skill in the Wildcat Word video. Link to video or website? Ask your learner how they have earned a βpawβ or ways they are being community contributors.
We are looking forward to seeing you at upcoming family events (see below) PTSA calendar and our curriculum sharing/open house on October 10.
Thank you for your continued partnership in helping make this a great start and year ahead!
With Gratitude,
Melanie Ready
Principal

Communication Changes
Our staff believes communication is a key component in our partnership with families to have access to important dates, information, and activities that happen at Lake Wilderness. In the past, we have emailed and texted out the student's version of the Wildcat Word and or sent out a bi-weekly newsletter for parents to view each week.
This year we are steering families more to our website for important details. Each week the Wildcat Word video will be posted on the website and the Wildcat Word newsletter will be posted monthly on the website and as well as sent out by text and email.

Student Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures
As we enter our 3rd week of school, the Lake Wilderness student drop-off and student pick-up continues to get more efficient. Thank you for your attention to these safety reminders:
- Please do not line up in the student drop off/pick up line prior to 30 minutes before drop off or pick up times.
- Students walking to school enter through the D wing gate (near portables) or the bus entrance if coming through the neighborhood gate.
- Please drive slowly in the car loop and reserve handicap spots, as well as don't park in front of the handicap access to our sidewalks for our wildcats needing accessibility accommodations. We have several wildcats who use wheelchairs, and their families need to park there, thank you!
Thank you so much for your partnership!
