Collins & Co. Room 204
Week Twenty-Five (March 2-6)
Welcome!
We made it through our first week of PARCC testing. The students were patient with our technical difficulties, and soon became experts in the process. Taking five tests in three days is not an easy feat, and they should be proud of doing their best. We took some stretch and brain breaks during testing. We also celebrated by playing silent ball, heads up seven up, and hangman.
On Wednesday afternoon, we were able to go over to NBJH to watch the dress rehearsal of Aladdin Jr. The performance was fantastic and the 5th graders enjoyed getting to watch the show!
Next week we will back to our normal schedule, including spelling, vocabulary, and a new math chapter!
Thanks for your continued support and help at home.

Math
This week we did some practice PARCC type questions before they took their two assessments. Students were really encouraged to show their work while solving problems. This allowed them to be able to easily type in the answers, since the problem was already solved on scratch paper.
We also played math games, solved logic puzzles, and watched some brain pop videos.
Next week will go back to our Math in Focus program. The students will begin learning about graphs and probability (Chapter 11).
