Lockdown Drill
As a part of the District's safety and emergency preparedness protocols, Archer Glen will be conducting a Lockdown Drill on Thursday, September 28th at 8:40 am. In preparation, teachers will share age-appropriate information with their students next week. On the day of the drill, other district administrators and local law enforcement will be on-site to observe and provide feedback. During the drill, all visitors will be asked to participate and no entry or exit is allowed until the drill concludes. The drill will take a few minutes to complete.
More information about the district's emergency preparedness, please visit the Emergency Information page.
Volunteering
All Volunteers will need to a) complete a background check and b) submit a proof of vaccination or receive approval for a vaccination exception.
- Background checks are completed online: Background Check Forms. Background checks may take up to 10 days to process.
- Proof of vaccination are submitted to the Archer Glen front office in-person or via email (jmorales@sherwood.k12.or.us). Vaccination exception forms, if needed, can be found here: Medical Exception Request or Religious Exception Request. Completed exception forms are emailed to Steve Emmert at semmert@sherwood.k12.or.us. Exceptions may take up to 14 days to process.
Classroom Volunteers are coordinated directly through the classroom teacher. Classroom volunteers will need to a) complete a background check and b) submit a proof of vaccination or receive approval for a vaccination exception. Reach out to your child's teacher to learn about volunteering in the classroom.
School Wide Volunteers, such as for school wide special events and programs, are coordinated through the HelpCounter app. To use the HelpCounter app, please follow these steps:
- Step 1 Submit your a) background check and b) proof of vaccination or exception.
- Step 2 Contact Lyndsey Brewer at volunteer@archerglenpac.org to make sure that your background check and vaccination information has been cleared. This generally takes two weeks to clear.
- Step 3 Download the HelpCounter App onto your phone
- Step 4 Create an account using the same email that you shared with the PAC coordinator
- Step 5 Set your volunteer preferences and sign up for volunteer opportunities at Archer Glen
Any questions about school-wide volunteer opportunities can be directed to Lyndsey Brewer, PAC Volunteer, at volunteer@archerglenpac.org
Archer Glen Passport Club
This year, all students (K-5) at Archer Glen Elementary have the opportunity to explore the world
through a program called The Passport Club - which is an effective and fun way to help achieve geographic literacy. Help us give our children the world!
Each child receives a passport, chooses an individual level of study and collects “stamps” for their passport as she/he learns some or all of the world’s countries over the course of the school year. Their passports will be held during the year and awarded to the children at the year-end assembly.
Club members meet once a month before school. Register by October 3rd, 2022.
4th and 5th Grade Choir Registration
The $35 registration fee covers the cost of the choir t-shirt, music, and transportation to performances. Cash or checks can be given to the front office, or directly to Ms. Brannan. Please make checks out to Archer Glen.
Ms. Brannan can be reached at sbrannan@sherwood.k12.or.us
SSD Parents - We want your feedback!
The Sherwood School District is conducting a community engagement process as we assess how to best meet the needs of our students and families. At last night’s Back to School Night, we shared a short presentation about this process, as well as an opportunity to complete a parent/guardian feedback survey.
If you were unable to attend last night’s presentation, the information can be found here.
To complete our parent/guardian survey, please visit bit.ly/3DmQiCh or scan the QR code to the right to access our online survey. To complete the survey in Spanish, please visit bit.ly/3Su2OUC.

School Meals: Free & Reduced and Expanded Income Eligibility Programs
We recognize the impact that returning to paid school meals this year can have on family budgets, and encourage parents/guardians to complete an eligibility application to determine if your family qualifies for free or reduced meals -- even if your family may not have been eligible under federal guidelines in past years. The Oregon Expanded Income Eligibility Group (EIG) supports families who do not qualify for meal benefits using federal income guidelines. It provides meal benefits to households with incomes above 185%, but not exceeding 300%, of the federal poverty guidelines.
To apply for either Federal or EIG free/reduced meal eligibility, please complete the Online Free and Reduced Meal Application. For more details on income-based eligibility, please click the image below to access the Federal and Oregon Expanded Income Eligibility charts for the 2022-23 school year.
